“I’ve been very fortunate in my career so far to have the opportunity to play for some of the best clubs and in some of the best leagues in the world,” Moise Kean said in a recent interview with Radio Bruno. “To be able to compete in the Premier League with Everton and then join a powerhouse like Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 was an incredible experience and really helped me grow as a player.” Kean made his professional debut for the club in 2016 at the age of 16. He quickly established himself as one of the best young prospects in European football, drawing comparisons to fellow Italian striker Mario Balotelli for his combination of physical prowess and technical ability.
“Playing for Juventus at such a young age was an incredible opportunity, but it also came with a lot of pressure,” Kean said. “I knew I had a lot to learn and I was eager to absorb as much knowledge as I could from the experienced players around me.” In 2019, Kean made the move to the Premier League, joining Everton on an initial loan before the move was made permanent. While his time at Goodison Park had its ups and downs, he believes the experience of playing in one of the most competitive leagues in the world has been invaluable.
“The Premier League is such a unique environment – the pace of the game, the physicality, the passion of the fans, everything is on a different level to other leagues,” Kean said. “I had to adapt quickly, on and off the pitch, and it really pushed me to become a more complete player.” It was his move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2020, however, that Kean credits as the real turning point in his career so far. Linking up with superstars like Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, Kean says he has been able to learn invaluable lessons from two of the game’s greatest talents. “I was so lucky to play alongside Neymar and Mbappe at PSG,” Kean enthused. “They are two of the best players in the world, and being able to train with them and get advice from them was an incredible experience.”
Kean went on to explain that he would often approach the two attacking stars after training sessions, eager to take advantage of any advice or information they could provide. “I would just hang back after training and wait for my chance to talk to them,” Kean said. “I would ask them questions about their positioning, their movement, their decision-making – anything that I thought would help me improve my own game. And they were always so generous with their time and knowledge.” Kean credits Neymar and Mbappe’s willingness to mentor the young Italian forward with playing a key role in his continued development. “They didn’t have to take the time to work with me, but they did, and I’m very grateful for that,” Kean said. “Neymar in particular has been a great inspiration, sharing insights into his mindset and approach to the game. And Kylian has been great at breaking down the technical aspects of attacking at the highest level.”
In July 2024, Italian striker Moise Kean made a move that many considered to be a pivotal step in his burgeoning career. After spending the last few seasons playing for powerhouse clubs like Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, the 24-year-old joined Fiorentina in a move worth €13 million. The move represented something of a homecoming for Kean, who had spent his formative years in the youth academy of Italian giants Juventus before breaking into the first team and establishing himself as one of the best young talents in world football. Now, having gained invaluable experience at the highest level of the game, he will look to lead the attack for a Fiorentina side eager to establish themselves as Serie A contenders.
“I am really excited about this new chapter in my career,” Kean said when announcing his move. “Fiorentina is a club with a great history and passionate fans, and I can’t wait to get started and show what I can do.” According to renowned transfer market valuation site Transfermarkt, Kean’s current market value is estimated at around €14 million, a significant increase on the €13 million Fiorentina paid to sign him. This reflects the progress the young forward has made in recent years, both in terms of his performances on the pitch and his growing reputation in the game. Kean made his professional debut for the club in 2016 at just 16 years of age. From there, he quickly established himself as one of the best young prospects in European football, earning comparisons to fellow Italian striker Mario Balotelli for his combination of physical prowess and technical ability.
